Take a step back in time! Ride the ferry over from Bayfield. You can walk to the museum from the ferry dock. It’s just across Main Street past the Gazebo. Look for the stockade.

For more than three centuries, generations of Native Americans, fur traders, lumbermen, old salts and summer travelers have responded to Madeline Island’s siren song.  Discover for yourself the timeless allure of this place.

Begin your island experience with a visit to a museum dedicated for over 50 years to Madeline Island’s storied past and energetic present. Special children’s exhibits and activities. Group rates available.

Museum Store features books, handmade jewelry, Ojibwe crafts, and other unique gifts. The Museum is available for receptions, weddings and meetings.  Call for details.
