Cheq Bay Community Radio, Inc

WVCB 97.7 FM, Voice of Chequamegon Bay, is an up-and-coming hyper-local community radio station that will be broadcasting from Ashland, WI for those close enough to catch our low-power FM signal, and streaming online for everyone everywhere.

WVCB is a non-profit organization guided by a board of directors (locals) and powered by volunteers, donors, grants and underwriters. The station will be what the community makes it, and with your help, it will amplify all that we love about living here.

This area is rich in culture, but many voices are unheard, and although there is a sense of unity among the Cheq Bay communities, we lack a media outlet to express our cultural identity. Community radio is uniquely suited to harness and highlight all the local talent that exists, and can be the type of social infrastructure that contributes to lasting growth and vibrancy of a place. The time is right for this.

Want to help make it happen? WVCB is currently recruiting volunteers, actively fundraising, and working hard to develop enough programming to launch our online streaming this spring, with terrestrial broadcasting to follow late summer 2025. On the WVCB website, you can make a donation, sign up for the newsletter, and fill out a contact form to pitch us a show idea or join up as a volunteer.
